Fill out a web form automatically with Automatio
You provide the agent with a URL and the details for the fields. The agent opens a new tab in your browser, enters the text, and selects the correct options for you to review.
What to ask
Type it in the Automatio side panel in Chrome, with the page open. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.
Go to [url of the sign-up page] and fill out the registration form. Use these details: Name is [Name], Email is [Email], and for the department dropdown, choose 'Sales'. Stop once the fields are filled but before you click the submit button.
How it works
- 1
Open the side panel
Click the Automatio icon in your browser toolbar to open the chat interface next to your current page.
- 2
Switch to My browser
In the agent menu of the chat composer, select
My browserorAsk firstso the agent can work in your signed-in Chrome session. - 3
Send your request
Type your prompt including the form address and the specific data for each field, then press Enter.
- 4
Review the new tab
The agent opens a new tab and begins typing; watch the progress and check the entries once the agent confirms it is finished.
What you get
The agent opens a fresh tab in your browser and interacts with the page elements directly. It fills text boxes, selects items from dropdown menus, and marks checkboxes according to your instructions.
You will see the browser's debugging bar at the top of the tab while the agent is working. Once the agent stops, the tab remains open for you to verify the information is correct before you manually submit the form or tell the agent to proceed.
Good to know
- The agent only fills forms in tabs it opens itself and cannot interact with your existing open tabs.
- Chrome displays a debugging notification while the agent is active, and dismissing this bar stops the agent immediately.
- Using the agent in the browser consumes credits from your Automatio account.
- The extension does not function on chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, or inside the Chrome PDF viewer.

Questions
Does this work in Firefox or Safari?
No, it requires the Chrome extension API to drive the browser. It is built for Chrome 125 or newer and also works in Edge and Brave.
Can the agent submit the form for me?
Yes, it can click the submit button if you instruct it to do so. It is generally safer to ask the agent to stop before submitting so you can review the information first.
Is my data kept private?
The extension only sends the data you explicitly provide in the prompt or what the agent reads in its own tabs to your Automatio account. It does not have analytics or trackers and never reads your clipboard.
Can I use it for files?
The agent can upload files up to 20 MB from your local device or download files up to 50 MB, though it will refuse executable files.
