Google Sheets

An AI agent for your Google Sheets

Ask in plain words and it creates a sheet, fills it with research, appends rows on a schedule, updates a column, or reads a sheet and tells you what's in it. The data can come from the web, your Gmail or your own files.

Connects through the Google Drive & Sheets tile. Writing to a sheet costs 1 credit.

Automatio chat

Find 20 coworking spaces in Lisbon with their monthly price and website, and put them in a new Google Sheet.

  • Searched and read the listings
  • Created a sheet called Lisbon coworking
  • Added a row for each space with its price and link
What it does

Spreadsheet work, done by asking

Tell it what the sheet should hold. It finds the data and writes the rows.

Create and fill sheets

Starts a spreadsheet with the tabs you name and fills it from research, email or your files.

Append and update

Adds rows as new entries or overwrites a range, with values entered as if you typed them.

Read and explain

Reads a range as shown, as raw values or as formulas, and answers questions about it.

Copy templates

Copies a spreadsheet, then fills the copy for a new client or a new month.

On a schedule

Appends today's numbers every morning, or emails you a weekly summary of a sheet.

From Gmail to a sheet

With Gmail connected, it pulls leads, orders or invoices out of email into rows.

Getting started

Connect in three steps

1

Connect Google Sheets

In Automatio, open Integrations, pick Google Drive & Sheets and sign in with Google.

2

Point it at a sheet

Paste a sheet's link, or ask it to create a new one.

3

Ask

Say what to add, change or find. Ask for it every day and it becomes an automation.

Try these

Things to ask once Sheets is connected

Each opens in Automatio with the request filled in.

Research into a sheet

Search, read, and one row per result.

Find 20 coworking spaces in Lisbon with their monthly price and website and put them in a new Google Sheet.

Explain a sheet

Paste the link; it reads the data and answers.

Read [sheet link] and tell me which three products sold the most last month.

Update a column

One instruction instead of editing row by row.

In [sheet link], set Status to Done for every row where Paid is Yes.

A row every morning

Becomes an automation that runs on its own.

Every morning at 9:00, add today's BTC and ETH prices as a new row in [sheet link].

From email to rows

Needs Gmail connected too.

Put the name, email and company of everyone who wrote through my contact form this month into a new sheet.

Copy a template

A fresh copy, filled in for a new client.

Copy [template sheet link] for [client name] and fill in their name and start date.

  • List the sheets it created or that you opened through it. For any other sheet, paste its link.

  • Let Google's Gemini read the raw sheet data. Any other model you pick works from Gemini's summary.

It doesn't

  • Format cells, add charts, sort, filter or share.
  • Add or rename tabs in an existing spreadsheet.
  • Clear ranges or delete rows.
  • Open Docs, Slides or other Drive files.

Questions

Which sheets can it open?

It lists the spreadsheets it created and the ones you opened through it. For any other sheet, paste its link in the chat.

Is this ChatGPT for Google Sheets?

It's Automatio's agent, and you choose the model it runs on, OpenAI's included. Google's Gemini reads the raw sheet data for it.

Can it delete my spreadsheets?

It can move a spreadsheet to Drive's trash, where you can restore it, and only when the delete is confirmed. It can't delete one permanently.

What does it cost?

Reading costs nothing beyond the AI's own work. Creating a sheet, appending rows or updating a range uses 1 credit each.

Is my data safe?

Access goes through Google's own sign-in, and Automatio's use of Google data follows Google's API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Your data is never used to train AI models.

How do I disconnect?

Disconnect the Google Drive & Sheets tile under Integrations, or remove Automatio's access in your Google account's security settings.
