Analyze a Google Sheet with AI using Automatio
Ask questions about your spreadsheet data directly in the chat. The agent reads your specified ranges and returns summaries or answers based on cell values and formulas.
What to ask
Type it in the Automatio chat. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.
I need you to analyze this sheet: [link]. Read the range A1:G100 in the 'Inventory' tab. Tell me which items are low on stock and suggest which ones I should reorder first based on their sales volume in column E.
How it works
- 1
Connect the integration
Open Integrations in Automatio, select the
Google Drive & Sheetstile, and sign in with your Google account. - 2
Provide the spreadsheet
Paste the link to your Google Sheet directly into the chat so the agent can access the file.
- 3
Define the data range
Tell the agent which tab and range to look at using A1 notation, such as
Sheet1!A1:B20. - 4
Ask for analysis
Type your specific question about the data, such as asking for a summary, a comparison, or a calculation.
What you get
The agent provides a written analysis in the chat. It summarizes the data from the range you requested, including values or formulas as they appear in the cells. You should verify the agent's interpretation of your column headers, especially if the data is complex or spans many rows.
The response is text-based and reflects the current state of the spreadsheet. If you update the sheet, you can ask the agent to read the range again to get fresh insights.
Good to know
- The AI cannot generate charts, pivot tables, or cell formatting to visualize its analysis.
- Reading spreadsheet data or listing sheet metadata costs nothing extra beyond the AI's standard usage credits.
- If the spreadsheet was not created through Automatio, you must paste its link in the chat for the agent to find it.
Variations to try
Check formula consistency
Read the range C2:C20 as formulas in [link] and tell me if any of the calculations seem inconsistent with the rest of the column.
Get tab metadata
List the titles of all the tabs in this spreadsheet: [link]. Include the row and column count for each tab.
Questions
Will my data be used to train AI models?
No. Automatio's use of Google API data follows the Limited Use policy, and it is not used to train AI models.
Can the agent see my entire Google Drive?
No. It only finds spreadsheets created through Automatio or those you specifically open through it, up to a limit of 100 files; for any other sheet, you must paste the link.
What if I use a model other than Gemini?
When you choose a non-Google model, Google's Gemini reads the raw Sheets data first and provides a summary for the model you chose to work from.
