Create a Google Sheet with Automatio for Google Sheets

Tell the agent to build a new spreadsheet with specific tab names and initial data. It creates the file in your Google Drive and populates the rows as if you typed them yourself.

What to ask

Type it in the Automatio chat. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.

Create a new Google Sheet titled [Project Name] with tabs named Leads and Notes. In the Leads tab, add rows for these three companies: [Company A], [Company B], and [Company C], including their industry and headquarters location.

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect your account

Go to Integrations, then Apps, and click the Google Drive & Sheets tile to sign in with your Google account.

  2. 2

    Describe the spreadsheet

In the chat, tell the agent the title, the names of the tabs you want, and any locale or time zone preferences.

  3. 3

    Provide initial data

Include a request for the AI to research information or move data from another source directly into the new rows.

  4. 4

    Verify the result

Open the link the agent sends to see your new spreadsheet in Google Drive with the populated data.

What you get

The agent creates a new spreadsheet in your Google Drive with the exact title and tab names you requested. It then appends the data as new rows in the specified tabs.

You will receive a direct link to the spreadsheet in the chat. Open the file to check that the tab names are correct and the data appears in the rows as intended. The agent enters values as raw text, so you should check that the information is placed in the columns you expected.

Good to know

  • Creating a spreadsheet and each row append adds 1 credit to the cost of the AI usage.
  • The agent cannot add or rename tabs in a spreadsheet once it has been created.
  • It cannot apply cell formatting, add charts, or create pivot tables.
  • Access is restricted to spreadsheets created through Automatio or those you explicitly link in the chat.

Variations to try

Create with specific locale

Create a new spreadsheet called European Sales with the locale set to France and tabs for Q1 and Q2.

Research and fill new sheet

Create a sheet named Competitor Research with a tab for Features. Research the top 5 competitors for [Product Category] and list their pricing in the rows.

Set up a tracking template

Create a sheet titled Workout Log with tabs for Cardio and Strength. Append a row in Cardio with today's date and a placeholder for duration.

Questions

How many credits does this cost?

Creating the spreadsheet costs 1 credit, and each action to append rows costs 1 credit. These are added to the credits used for the AI's own processing work.

Can I add more tabs to the sheet later?

No, the agent cannot add or rename tabs in an existing spreadsheet. You must specify all the tabs you need when you first ask the agent to create the file.

Is my Google data private?

Automatio uses a secure integration service to hold your access token and follows the Google API Services User Data Policy. Your spreadsheet data is never used to train AI models.

Can the AI format my new sheet?

The agent cannot format cells, change colors, or adjust font styles. It also cannot add charts or filters to the spreadsheet it creates.
