Automations
Work that repeats on a schedule, while you are away.
An automation is an agent task that runs on a schedule. It runs on our servers, so your computer can be off.
Making one
Ask for it in any chat: "every morning at 8, summarize my unread emails". There is no form to fill in. The agent creates it paused, runs one supervised test, and then you resume it to start the schedule.
The shortest repeat is every 5 minutes.
Where the results go
Each run posts its report into the automation's home chat, which is the chat you made it in. If you made it in a chat on a canvas, it gets a separate chat named after it.
Managing them
Automations in the sidebar lists them, each with its schedule, whether it is armed or paused, what it has spent, and, while armed, its next run in UTC. Click a title to open its home chat.
Each row has Pause and Resume, and a trash button, Delete automation. Deleting keeps the chat and its history. Show full instructions shows the plan, and Edit changes its name and instructions.
To run one right away, ask the agent in chat.
What it costs, and when it stops
Each run is a normal agent run and costs credits.
- While your balance is under 1,000 credits, runs are skipped. You get one notice, and they start again by themselves when credits are back.
- An automation with its own budget turns itself off when the budget is used up, and posts a notice.
- An automation with a set number of cycles turns itself off after the last one.
- One with no limit on cycles pauses itself after 30 days without an edit.
- If a run fails, the schedule moves on to the next one.
Scheduled runs always use the cloud browser, never your own Chrome.
