Add Automatio's MCP server to ChatGPT

Give ChatGPT live access to web search, page reading, and crypto market data through Automatio's MCP server. You authorize the connection via sign-in and manage usage with a daily credit limit.

How it works

    Open plugin settings

    Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, click the plus button, and select "Add custom MCP server".

    Configure the server

    Enter a name for the server and set the Server URL to https://automatio.ai/api/v1/mcp.

    Authorize connection

    Choose OAuth, confirm "I understand and want to continue", and select "Create as a plugin".

    Sign in and set limits

    Log in to your Automatio account in the browser window, pick a daily credit limit of 500, 2,000, or 10,000, and press Allow.

    Call the server

    Install the plugin from your list and type @ in the prompt box to select the Automatio server before sending your request.

What you get

ChatGPT calls the relevant Automatio tool and returns the data directly in your chat window. You will see the specific tool name and the credits spent for the call.

Verify that the output matches the tool used, such as markdown text for page reading or a ranked list for web searches. The credits are deducted from your Automatio balance immediately upon completion.

Good to know

  • ChatGPT supports sign-in only and does not accept API keys or custom request headers.
  • Full MCP access is a beta feature for Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces and requires an admin to allow custom connectors.
  • Sign-in connections are limited to web search, page reading, screenshots, and two crypto data tools.
  • Calls stop automatically if you hit your daily credit limit or your Automatio balance runs out.

Questions

Which ChatGPT plans work with this?

Full MCP use is currently a beta for Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces where an admin has enabled custom MCP connectors. Pro users have read-only access in developer mode, while availability on other plans is not confirmed.

Can I use my Automatio API key with ChatGPT?

No, ChatGPT only supports the sign-in (OAuth) method. You cannot use the wider tool set like Reddit or YouTube which requires an API key connection.

How do I change my daily credit limit?

The daily limit is fixed when you first connect. To change it, you must revoke the connection under Integrations, API keys in your Automatio dashboard and add the server to ChatGPT again.

Does ChatGPT see my Automatio account files?

No. The connection only allows ChatGPT to call the specific tools you authorized. It never sees your Automatio chats, files, or saved API keys.
