Build a landing page in the block editor with Automatio

You describe the layout, sections, and copy you want for your landing page in a chat. Automatio creates a new page draft on your WordPress site using standard blocks and uploaded media.

What to ask

Type it in the Automatio chat. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.

On my site [yoursite.com], create a new landing page draft titled "Summer Fitness Challenge". Include a hero section with a large heading, a three-column features list, and an email signup area. Use the image from [https://example.com/fitness.jpg] as the featured image and set the slug to summer-challenge.

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect your site

In Automatio, go to Integrations, select Apps, then WordPress, and type your site's address. Sign in to your site and press Approve on the WordPress authorization screen.

  2. 2

    Send your request

Open the web chat and describe the landing page you want to build, specifying the blocks, titles, and any image links you want to include.

  3. 3

    Review the draft

The agent creates the page as a draft. Log into your WordPress dashboard and open the new page in the block editor to check the layout and content.

What you get

Automatio returns a confirmation that the page has been created as a draft, usually providing the page ID. You should check the WordPress block editor to ensure the blocks are arranged correctly and the media library to confirm images were uploaded with the correct alt text.

If you asked the agent to edit a template part like a header or footer on a block theme, it returns the previous value so you can revert the change if needed.

Good to know

  • Pages are saved as drafts unless you explicitly ask the agent to publish them.
  • Automatio cannot edit Additional CSS, theme files, or upload SVG files.
  • Images uploaded from external links must be under 10 MB each.
  • The agent cannot install new landing page plugins unless the management switch is enabled by the owner.

Variations to try

Edit existing page blocks

On [yoursite.com], edit the Home page. Add a two-column section after the hero block with the heading "Our Mission" and the text I provided.

Update a block theme header

On my block theme at [yoursite.com], update the Header template part to change the site tagline and add a new navigation block.

Add media to a draft

Find the draft titled "Product Launch" on [yoursite.com] and insert the video from [https://example.com/demo.mp4] into a new video block at the end.

Questions

Do I need to install a plugin?

No plugin is required. Automatio connects through the built-in WordPress REST API using application passwords, provided your site uses HTTPS and allows these passwords.

Does building a page cost credits?

The WordPress tools themselves are free, but the agent's work to build the page uses your Automatio account credits. If you ask the agent to generate new images, that uses separate image credits.

Can I build a page on a multisite network?

Multisite support is currently untested. Automatio is designed for standard WordPress installations where the account used is an administrator or editor.

What happens if I don't like the block layout?

You can ask the agent to edit the draft and move blocks around, or you can manually adjust the blocks in the WordPress editor. Since the page is saved as a draft, nothing is public until you publish it.
