Write blog post drafts with Automatio for WordPress

Ask the AI agent to write new blog posts for your WordPress site based on your specific topics or outlines. It handles the text creation, assigns relevant categories, and prepares the draft in your dashboard for review.

What to ask

Type it in the Automatio chat. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.

Create a blog post draft for [mysite.com] about the benefits of organic gardening. Write a 400-word article with an educational tone. Use the category 'Gardening Tips' and the tag 'Organic'. Also, set a brief summary in the excerpt field that mentions soil health.

How it works

  1. 1

    Connect your site

Go to Integrations and then Apps in Automatio to add your WordPress site address. Sign in when prompted to authorize the application without installing a plugin.

  2. 2

    Select the site in chat

Name the specific WordPress site you want to work on in the Automatio chat so the agent knows where to send the content.

  3. 3

    Send drafting instructions

Type your request for a new post, including the topic, length, and specific categories or tags you want assigned to the entry.

  4. 4

    Check the draft

Log in to your WordPress dashboard and look under the Posts menu to find your new draft ready for final review and publishing.

What you get

The agent creates a new entry in your WordPress dashboard and returns a confirmation with the post details. The post is saved as a draft by default, containing the generated title, article body, and excerpt.

Log in to your site to verify that the categories and tags were applied correctly and that the formatting matches your theme. You can then make manual edits or ask the agent to adjust specific sections before you publish the content to your live site.

Good to know

  • Posts are saved as drafts unless you specifically ask the agent to publish them.
  • Your WordPress site must be on HTTPS and have application passwords enabled for the connection to work.
  • The agent's work uses your account's Automatio credits, and generating images costs additional credits.
  • Featured images must be provided via an https link and cannot exceed 10 MB per file.

Questions

Do I need to install a WordPress plugin?

No plugin is required because Automatio uses the official WordPress REST API. It connects securely through the core application passwords feature available in WordPress 5.6 and newer.

What does this cost to run?

The WordPress tools themselves are free, but the agent's time and processing use your existing Automatio credits. Generating new images through the AI costs its own separate credits.

Is my site login data secure?

Automatio replaces your initial application password with a fresh, encrypted one and revokes the original. The AI agent never sees your credentials, and you can revoke access at any time from your WordPress profile.

Can I publish the post immediately via chat?

Yes, while the agent saves posts as drafts by default, you can explicitly tell it to set the status to publish. However, it is usually safer to let it create a draft so you can check the layout first.
