Use an AI assistant in Discord DMs with Automatio

You can send private messages or slash commands to your AI agent to get help with tasks and file analysis. The assistant uses your existing account history and tools to provide responses directly in your messages.

What to ask

Send it with /ask in Discord, or type it in the Automatio chat. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.

How it works

Connect your account
Go to the Integrations page on the Automatio website and add the user app to your Discord account to link your history and credits.

Start a direct message
Find the Automatio bot in your Discord Direct Message list or type /ask in any channel to start a private interaction.

Send a request or file
Type your question into the chat and attach a file if needed, then send the message to receive a private response from your agent.

Manage your conversations
Use the /new command to start a fresh topic or type /chats to see and pick up one of your five most recent conversation threads.

What you get

The agent sends a response directly to your private message thread. If you included a file, the assistant analyzes the text within the character limits and applies your instructions. These interactions are saved to your central chat history, so you can continue the same conversation later on the Automatio web app. You should verify any specific data or calculations in the response before using them for critical work.

Good to know

Each request is limited to a maximum of 6,000 characters.
Interactions in DMs consume credits from your linked Automatio account.
The agent only sees the specific messages or files you send to it or select using the Apps menu.

Variations to try

Analyze a message

Right-click a specific message in your DM, select Apps, and click Ask Automatio to ask a question about that content.

Continue old chats

Type `/chats` to view your last five conversations and select one to resume the discussion with all its previous context.

Questions

Are my direct messages private?

Yes, responses in your DM with the bot are private and not visible to others. If you use the bot in a group DM or server, you can choose to make a reply public, but it is private by default.

Does this use separate credits?

No, it uses the same account balance and credit pool as your activity on automatio.ai. Every request to the assistant costs a small amount of credits based on the model and tools used.

Can I use web tools like search in DMs?

Yes, your agent in Discord has access to the same tools and capabilities as the web version, including web search and file analysis. The history is also synced across both platforms.
