Create Discord events and invite links with Automatio
You can ask your agent to set up scheduled events and generate invite links for your server. The bot creates these items instantly in your server settings and gives you the details in its response.
What to ask
Type it in the Automatio chat. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.
Create a scheduled event for a community meeting this Friday at 5 PM in the [town-hall] voice channel, and generate a 24-hour invite link for the same channel.
How it works
- 1
Install the bot
An owner or person with Manage Server permissions adds the bot to the server from the Automatio website.
- 2
Request the event
Use the
/askcommand to describe the event name, date, time, and location, or specify the requirements for a new invite link. - 3
Review the result
The agent creates events and invites at once without requiring you to click an Approve button, though follow-up posts will wait for your permission.
What you get
The agent confirms the event is scheduled and provides the generated invite URL. You will see the new entry in the server's Events tab and the link will appear in your server settings under the Invitations list.
Before sharing, verify that the event time matches your intended time zone and that the invite link permissions are correct for the target channel.
Good to know
- Creating an event or an invite link runs at once, but asking the bot to post an announcement about it will wait for your approval.
- Automatio cannot post messages or create events on a recurring schedule.
- The bot can only create invites and events for channels it has permission to view.
- The server owner pays credits for the AI's usage to process and execute these requests.
Variations to try
Create a limited-use invite
Generate an invite link for the [welcome] channel that is limited to 10 uses and expires in 7 days.
Set up a Stage event
Create a scheduled event for a Q&A session tomorrow at 2 PM on the [main-stage] and write a short description about our new project.
Permanent invite link
Give me a permanent invite link for the [rules] channel that never expires.
Questions
Do I need to approve the event creation?
No. Scheduled events and invite links are among the few actions that run at once by default. You will see the confirmation immediately after the agent processes your request.
Can the bot ping everyone about the event?
The bot can mention roles or @everyone in an announcement if you have given it the Mention Everyone permission. However, any post containing a mention will wait for you to press an Approve button before it is sent.
Does it work in private channels?
The bot can only create events for channels it can see. If a channel denies the bot's role access, the agent cannot generate invites or schedule events for that specific location.
