Draft email replies with Automatio for Gmail
Ask the AI to find specific emails and write draft replies based on your instructions. It creates these messages directly in your Gmail Drafts folder so you can review them before they are sent.
What to ask
Type it in the Automatio chat. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.
Find the last email from [Client Name] about [Topic] and draft a reply. Acknowledge their request for [Detail] and tell them I will follow up by tomorrow afternoon. Save this as a draft in the original thread.
How it works
- 1
Connect your Gmail account
Go to the Integrations page in Automatio, select the
Gmailtile, and sign in with your Google account. - 2
Request a draft reply
In the chat, tell the agent which email to find and provide the points you want it to include in the reply. Specifically ask it to create a draft.
- 3
Review in Gmail
Open your Gmail account and look in the Drafts folder to find the prepared message within the original thread.
What you get
The AI finds the correct email thread and adds a new draft reply to it. You will see a confirmation in the chat after the agent performs the action.
The draft appears in your Gmail account immediately. You should open the draft to check the tone and accuracy before you manually click send.
Good to know
- Asking for drafts leaves them in the Drafts folder for review rather than sending them immediately.
- The agent cannot send from an alias or change your existing Gmail signature.
- Gmail data is not used to train AI models.
- Sending a draft, replying, or forwarding adds 1 credit to the cost of the AI usage.
Variations to try
Draft a forward with a note
Find the email from [Colleague] regarding [Project] and draft a forward to [Manager] with a note explaining that the initial results are ready for review.
Bulk draft replies
Find all unread emails from [Company] received today and draft short replies for each saying I have received the message and will get back to them by Friday.
Questions
Does it send the email automatically?
No. When you ask the agent to create a draft, it leaves the message in your Drafts folder. You must go to Gmail to review and send it yourself.
What does it cost to draft a reply?
Creating a draft adds nothing beyond the AI's own usage cost. If you ask the agent to send the email directly instead of drafting, it adds 1 credit to the call.
Can I choose which AI model writes my drafts?
Yes, you can select the model the agent runs on in the chat. However, Google's Gemini always reads the raw Gmail data first to provide a summary for your chosen model.
Is my email data private?
Automatio follows Google API Services User Data Policy limited use requirements. Your Gmail data is not used to train AI models and the access token is not stored with your chats.
