Save Gmail attachments with Automatio for Gmail
Ask the agent to find specific attachments in your inbox using criteria like file type, sender, or date. It searches your mail and downloads the files directly into your Automatio files area.
What to ask
Type it in the Automatio chat. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.
Find all PDF attachments from [sender@example.com] received in the last 7 days and download them to my Automatio files.
How it works
- 1
Connect your account
Navigate to Integrations, select the Gmail tile, and sign in with Google to give the agent access.
- 2
Request a search
In the chat, ask the agent to find attachments by filename, file type, sender, or date range.
- 3
Download the files
Tell the agent to download the files it found into your Automatio files storage.
What you get
The agent identifies the matching attachments and confirms their details, such as name and size. It then downloads them into your Automatio files storage. You can view the list of saved files directly in the chat interface to verify you have the correct documents.
Good to know
- Downloading attachments costs nothing extra beyond the AI model's own credit usage.
- The agent cannot forward the original attachments if you ask it to forward an email with a note.
- Searches can process up to 100 messages per page.
- You must have the Gmail tile connected in your integrations for the agent to access your attachments.
Variations to try
Save by file type
Find all spreadsheet attachments from my unread emails and save them to my files.
Search by filename
Look for an attachment with [invoice] in the name from this month and download it.
Collect from specific sender
Download all image files sent to me by [name@company.com] since yesterday.
Questions
Where are the attachments saved?
The agent downloads them into your Automatio files area. They are stored there within the integration service, not on your local hard drive or personal Google Drive, unless you move them later.
Is there a limit on file size?
The agent follows standard Gmail attachment limits for searching and reading. While it can find and download these files, it cannot attach files to outgoing emails unless you have manually uploaded those files into the chat first.
Does this cost extra credits?
Reading mail and downloading attachments adds no extra cost to the AI model's standard credit usage. Only sending, replying, or forwarding mail costs an additional 1 credit per action.
Is my data used for AI training?
No, your Gmail data is not used to train AI models. Automatio follows Google's Limited Use requirements to ensure your email information remains private and is only used to fulfill your specific requests.
