Summarize unread email with Automatio for Gmail
Ask the agent to find and digest your unread messages. You receive a structured summary in the chat that groups emails by sender or topic and highlights which ones require a response.
What to ask
Type it in the Automatio chat. Send it as written, or change the details to fit your case.
Find all my unread emails from the last 24 hours. Read the full bodies and give me a summary grouped by sender. For each sender, tell me what they want and if it seems like I need to reply.
How it works
- 1
Connect Gmail
Go to the Integrations page in Automatio, click the Gmail tile, and sign in with your Google account.
- 2
Start a chat
Open a new chat and ensure the Gmail integration is active in the sidebar.
- 3
Request a summary
Type your request to find
unreademails and ask the agent to summarize them by sender or topic. - 4
Review the digest
The agent reads the messages and provides a grouped list of summaries directly in the chat window.
What you get
The agent returns a structured text summary in your chat. It organizes the messages by the criteria you requested, such as sender name or subject matter. Each entry includes a brief explanation of the content and a note on whether a response is likely expected.
You should verify the summary against the sender names provided to ensure no high-priority context was omitted before you archive the messages.
Good to know
- Reading and summarizing messages adds nothing extra beyond the AI's own usage credits.
- The agent can retrieve up to 100 messages per page of search results.
- Google Gemini reads the raw email data first even if you have selected a different model for the chat.
- The agent cannot permanently delete emails; it moves them to the Trash where Gmail keeps them for 30 days.

Questions
Does Automatio use my email to train AI?
No. Gmail data is not used to train AI models. Automatio follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements to protect your information.
How much does it cost to summarize my mail?
Summarizing mail costs nothing beyond the AI's own usage credits. Additional costs of 1 credit per call only apply when you send, reply, or forward a message.
Can I summarize more than 100 emails at once?
The agent finds up to 100 messages per page. If you have more unread mail, you can ask the agent to check the next page for additional summaries.
Which AI model performs the summary?
Google's Gemini always reads the raw Gmail data first. If you have chosen another model for your chat, that model works from the summary Gemini provides.
